moin das habe ich bei den düsseldorfern gefunden zum thema bont-team
Zitat: Hi
Team Bont subscribed 9 skaters for the LE MANS event 2005. We HAVE done the registration of the team via fax, like many of you announcing the team, the team manager, what category etc.
Then, this form might have had another paper that has 10 tables where you can fill out the names of the skaters + the signatures of all of them. We did not have this form. We never saw it anyway. The further inscription has been done by our main office in Sydney, Australia. This has caused problems because the rulebook was not in English. Only in French and there was nobody who informed us about bringing medical certificats & passports. Only when we got at the inscription booth, we saw a panel saying what you need to subscribe the team.
If we knew this before going to Le mans, of course, we would have arranged this. Apart from the license. The skaters do not have a license in France as our skaters came from: New Zealand, Australia, Belgium, Switserland & South Africa.
It is NOT a crime to bring skaters in later. We did not have fresh skaters as they skated the Valle de Joux world inline cup only a few hours before in Switserland. I personally (I m the "young skater "as mentioned by someone above) drove to Paris at night & came back to Le mans.
We were given the O/K from the organisation about the inscriptions. The only thing we still had to get were the medical certificats. So, we got a doctor at the event who did the test & we had an agreement with the organisation that if we got the 4 remaining medical certificats before the end of the event, there would be no problem. So, the doctor told us to come between 10 & 11 in the morning. I went there at 10.07AM to see him and he told me to come back after 11. Obviously, team levallois had made a deal with the medical staff to avoid us getting the certificats. But, that is not the point, as everyone of you knows that our top skaters who race a marathon every weekend, somewhere in the world, that they are fit enough. I understand it is more important for the 1000's of skaters who just skate once in a year in this very though event. So this matter was closed for us & ok.
Then the subscription, nobody EVER asked me for the list with names & signatures. NOT AT ANY TIME. If it was given to us, we could at least fill out the skaters we had. We DID NOT CHEAT. We did NOT put more than 10 skaters in the event AND the organisation KNEW the names of all 9 skaters BEFORE the race started. The only missing thing were the signatures that must express that we had read & agreed the rulebook.
I want to react on the person who is saying that we have been listening to the walkie talkies from team levallois. We have used the walkie talkies for like 30 minutes. We were trying to find out if it would work better like that. But it didnt. In the same frequence, I could hear team levallois (AND THEY COULD HEAR US) and some other teams too. We NEVER intented to do that. Man, it's childish and by the way, listening to things like: "is skater X ready to go?" and stuff like that, is not really helping us to close the gap, right? so please mention the things like it happened & do not exagerate. It was clear for MANY teams that Bont is the real winner of the 24h of Le Mans, but we got disqualified because we did not get a list to put signatures on to say we agreed to the rulebook.
ps: the copy of the passports etc were made at the event. If we were informed before, of course, we would have done everything & WE UNDERSTAND that the rules have to be applied to every team. We do not want to be handled different, we never asked that. We only asked to be helped a little because of the communication problems: english/French.
We are happy that the organisation: tony mogis and co, incl almost 99% of the skaters & specators saw that: only looking at the sportive efforts, we have beated levallois with 2 laps, without doing something wrong during the race. We respected all the rules.
You have no idea how it feels to be told at 2hours from the finish, after 22H of intensive racing, that you are disqualified for a formal matter. (although accepted at the inscription).
I know MANY of you would feel the same. Levallois has lost this race, and that is why they started finding something to get us disqualified. They brought more complaints to the judges than they skated laps!
This story is 100% true. If you have any questions, i will reply with true answers, if we have gone wrong somewhere, i will agree.. so, please ask me questions and do not make stories.
brgds Kevin
Zitat: Hi Alvin
Last year was an exception. We could subscribe in the very last moment, with the help from the organisation. We didnt need medical certificats, no need for copy of passports either,..
So, we didnt know what we needed to do, to subscribe.
When I subscribed the team this year, I was on the phone with the secretary of Tony Mogis, the big boss of the le mans organisation & she helped me to subscribe the team. I remember that i asked her if I needed to do something else, and she said: no, everything is ok, you can just go to the subscription booth to pick up your numbers & chips.
Then, when I got there, I saw a board that said what you need to get your numbers etc. Then the organisation let us start the race, after we gave them the list of skaters that would start in the event + we would arrange the medical certificats during the event. This was all agreed before the race started. Then, after 22H of racing, the Levallois Team wrote a complaint to the judges because they were informed (inside information) that we did not have the documents yet.
brgds Kevin
